This is part of my doctorate - a literature review on approaches to lead time reduction in product development and manufacturing. For copyright reasons some diagrams are missing. The literature is comprehensive up to 1996, though provides a good overview of the subject which has changed little in the meantime. Please reference this document if you use it in your work.
