I've developed this site to provide a portal for all things related to the Knowledge Worker.  You may wonder why this is sufficiently important to spend time on - well in my experience Knowledge Workers in general are very badly managed, scandalously so.  Someone once estimated that a typical engineer was around 20% productive - the rest of their time was spent on pointless meetings, projects that didn't deliver anything (not even learning) or being distracted.  This has a huge strategic cost, since any change to implement a new strategy involves the coordinated work of many Knowledge Workers.  It also has a human impact - I've seen people's health, marriages and children suffer for attaining arbitrary deadlines that didn't really matter.

It is time to stop treating Knowledge Workers as cogs in a huge machine in the manner of Taylor and Ford, and start treating them as human beings.  Doing so will bring benefits to your business, and to society.
